Monroe Township Fire District No. 2 is currently accepting applications and resumes for per diem firefighter.

The applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Is a citizen of the United States.

• Is sound in body and of good health.

• Is at least 21 years of age.

• Is a High School graduate or equivalent.

• Is able to read, write and speak English intelligently.

• Is of good moral character.

• Is currently an active member of a fire department with at least 3 yrs. experience.

• Has never been arrested or convicted of any criminal offenses.

• Has a valid NJ Drivers License and a good driving record.

Applicants must submit the following documentation:

• Copy of Firefighter 1 certificate.

• Copy of Hazardous Materials Awareness/Operations certificate.

• Documentation of last Hazmat Refresher Training.

• Copy of Blood-borne Pathogen Awareness Training.

• Documentation of last Blood-borne Pathogen Refresher Training.

• Copy of Confined Space Awareness Training.

• Documentation of last Confined Space Refresher Training.

• Documentation of Hepatitis B Vaccination/Declination form.

• Copy of NJ Incident Management System level 1certification.

• Copy of Respiratory Medical Certification and Fit test results.

• Letter of current department Chief affirming active membership and minimum one year experience.
• Photocopy of Drivers License.

All applicants will be subject to criminal background checks, physical examinations and drug screening prior to appointment.

Applications are only available in person and may be picked up at Monroe Township Fire District 2 located at 130 Applegarth Road, Monroe Township, NJ on Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm from Chief James Carbin.

The Board of Fire Commissioners, Monroe Twp. Fire District No. 2, reserves the right to review all applications and accept or deny any applications based on the criteria above and when deemed in the best interest of Fire District 2.

• Firefighter Steven Nuber-assigned to D-tour
• Firefighter Jaysen Whalen-assigned to A-tour

The above firefighters were hired in October 2003 to complete the addition of two new crews for 24 hour shift coverage.
