Career Staff Shifts at Station 57On October 20, 2003, District No. 2 upgraded to a 24 hour career shift and created four groups to staff the department. With the additional hiring of eight new firefighters and the promotion of two Lieutenants, the crews work a 24 hour shift followed by 72 hours off. This rotation and schedule maximizes the work day by allowing better coordination and planning of daily tasks such as inspections and preventative maintenance. Each shift is assigned a Lieutenant and the three firefighters rotate as drivers for each shift. Please click on the shifts to the left to learn about the personnel at Station 57.
